Deuteronomy 30:19 “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your seed shall live.”
It’s in these moments that we’re presented with two choices, to choose to be annoyed, angered, and frustrated by life’s curveballs, or to look past the annoyance and choose joy to live. When life’s circumstances seem less than desirable, we have the power to choose joy.
Choosing joy isn’t simply slapping a smile on our face. Faking joy is not the same as choosing joy. Choosing joy is about seeing the big picture of what God is doing in your life and making the decision to find your happiness there. Choosing joy allows us to gain perspective and see past today’s troubles so we can catch a glimpse of tomorrow’s victories.
We have a promise from God that He will never leave nor forsake us. (Heb. 13:5) We can know that in whatever circumstance we may face, God is with us and will walk alongside us.
As you go through your day today and face trials (both big and small) make a mental note of the way you choose joy in those moments.
May God bless you well today.
Make It Great!
