Scripture: Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 18:1 (NIV)

There’s divine power in persistence. Jesus tells the story of a widow who kept showing up before an unjust judge. Day after day, she returned with the same plea: Grant me justice. And though the judge didn’t fear God or care about people, her relentless persistence wore him down until he finally responded.

Think about that, if an unjust man can be moved by persistence, how much more will a loving Father respond to the cries of His children?

This is such a great text to read because the widow refused to stop knocking, and that’s what God honors.

God honors those who stand in faith when the situation hasn’t changed yet.

See, it’s in prayer when Heaven hears the sound of persistence.

Watch the shift. Jesus ends the parable by shifting our perspective: if even an unjust judge responded to persistence, how much more will your righteous Father act quickly on behalf of His chosen ones?

The question to ponder on this Friday is this What have you stopped praying for because it seemed like nothing was happening? This Friday, pick it up. Go back to your prayer closet and knock again. Write that name down again. Speak that promise again. Pray with fresh faith, knowing your persistence is not wasted — it’s preparing the way for breakthrough.
