Be Still and Know

Scripture: Be still and know that I am God.  Psalm 46:10

As this week comes to a close, Friday calls us to slow our pace and check our spirit, because too often we move through life on autopilot and miss what God is already doing right in front of us. Spiritual awareness is learning how to stay woke in the Spirit—recognizing that God isn’t just present on Sunday morning or in big breakthrough moments, but in the quiet, in the pause, in the breath between decisions. When we get still, we begin to notice His voice guiding us, His peace correcting us, and His presence steadying us.

Jesus showed us the power of pulling away from the noise to reconnect with the Father, teaching us that clarity comes when we choose stillness over busyness. The more aware we become, the more sensitive we are to what God is saying—when to move, when to wait, when to speak, and when to be silent. Spiritual awareness keeps us from reacting in the flesh and helps us respond in faith.

As you wrap up this week, take a moment to ask yourself where God has been speaking, what distractions have been drowning Him out, and how you can make room to listen again. Sometimes the breakthrough isn’t in doing more, but in hearing better. You don’t have to strive—just pay attention. God is near, God is speaking, and Friday is your reminder to open your eyes, guard your heart, and walk aware.

Blessings,
