Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans. Proverbs 16:3
The first Friday of the year carries a quiet power. It’s not just another day, it’s a threshold.
Behind you are lessons learned, prayers answered, prayers still waiting, and moments God carried you through even when you didn’t realize it. Ahead of you is a year unwritten, full of unknowns that God already sees clearly. On Fridays, we often think about finishing strong—closing out a week, wrapping up responsibilities—but this Friday invites us to begin well.
Before goals, schedules, resolutions, or expectations crowd your heart, God asks for one simple thing: commit it to Me. Commit your plans—but also your pace. Commit your dreams—but also your disappointments. Commit your work—but also your rest.
God doesn’t promise that every path will be easy, but He does promise to establish the steps of those who place Him first. When the year begins with surrender, it gains direction; when it begins with prayer, it gains peace.
When God is first, priorities fall into place. When God is trusted, anxiety loosens its grip.
When God is honored, even ordinary days become purposeful. Let this Friday be less about pressure to get it right and more about trust that God will lead you well.
